reader’s choice

It’s the immortal blogger whine: I have too much to write and too little time. Regardless, I have so many posts languishing as drafts; it’s a tich annoying and is bad for my psyche. In the interest of getting something written to completion (if not satisfaction), I’m putting it to you, m’lovelies: What would you like to read?

Would you enjoy…

my feminism is better than your feminism – An examination of the many interpretations of feminism, through the prism of this Democratic nomination process that will not end. Also known as, I’m tired of people making me feel guilty because I don’t like Hillary Clinton. She needs to sit down and shut up. How many feminist feathers can I ruffle?

fangirl – A potentially much more light-hearted post about luuuuving people in the public eye more than the average fan. I say “potentially” because I’m having to work not to dive into deep-seated Daddy issues. Less of the older fandoms, more of the newer ones. Less old. More new. Yes, it still all comes back to Craig Ferguson but at the moment I Heart Jason Schwartzman more. (I know that’s a pathetic line. Whatever. I luuuuuuuuuv him.) Please note: Daddy issues do not relate Craig. Ew.

that’s so gay – yay! – Ramblings on (inter)cultural concepts of touch and gender dynamics. Featuring: homophobia, sexism, breaking down stereotypes, Muslim boys, reserving judgment and all sorts of haggish behavior.

children, behave – More thoughts on politics, the presidential election, foreign policy and Obama v. McCain. We might let Mrs. Clinton play if I’m feeling exceptionally generous. Draws comparisons between the U.S. government and bratty kids. Alas, not so much of a stretch.

it tastes like listerine – A (hopefully) amusing account of my failed attempts to bathe. I think we’ll just leave the description at that.

That’s five options for you, my darlings, and oh, could I go on. Do feel free to weigh in and let me know if I should prioritize something for you.

  1. Wow, you’ve been blogging for only three months* and already you are succumbing to the immortal blogger whine! Would you like some cheese with that?

You don’t want to know how many posts I have languishing as drafts. Not to mention the ones that are just in my head, uncommitted even to draft mode, as I haven’t been arsed to actually type them out.

I like the word “tich.” Did you make that up? Is it Yiddish?

Anyway, I think you should definitely blog about the feminism thing, even though you and I might very well get into it about Hillary. You know I’m an Obama supporter. But I think Hillary has taken a lot of shit and I think “sit down and shut up” is a really non-productive and, frankly, offensive thing to say about her.

Also please blog about the cultural stereotypes, Muslim boys, touching, etc. That is fascinating (and amusing) stuff.

And if you want to conform to some of the worst blogger stereotypes, absolutely blog about your lack of bathing.

*Note I did not say “you’ve only been blogging for three months.” The lessons of Mrs. Cody have stuck with me!

  2. I’ll take chevre, please. ;-)

Tich is, apparently, an alternate spelling of “titch” and has its roots in 19th Century England. Who knew?

I think “sit down and shut up” is a really non-productive and, frankly, offensive thing to say about her.

:-D Like I said, how many feminist feathers can I ruffle? No one cared when I said John Edwards needed to sit down and shut up. Hillary Clinton gets equal treatment. ;-)

And if you want to conform to some of the worst blogger stereotypes, absolutely blog about your lack of bathing.

Heh. So, totally not what that post is about. Not really.

I take it your priorities are ranked thusly: (1)my anti-Hillary post, (2)the Muslim boys and bathing only if I must? ;-)

  3. Actually I’d switch numbers (1) and (2), because I know some of the backstory already on the Muslim boys thing and it’s hilarious/fascinating/weird and I want to hear more of your deconstructions of it, and because the Hillary thing is likely to piss me off, so why rank getting pissed off as my top want?

  4. but I want it all …

  5. but I want it all …

But you can have it all! You just need to help me prioritize when. :-)
